The Tamil Nadu Vanigar Sangankalin Peramaippu and the Federation of All Traders Associations of Kumbakonam on Tuesday expressed disappointment over the failure of the DMK government to fulfill their demand for a new district with Kumbakonam as headquarters. A resolution adopted at the general body meeting of the two organisations held here said Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s failure to fulfil his election promise of creating a new district with Kumbakonam as headquarters had caused huge disappointment.
