Mauritius President Dharambeer Gokhool offered prayers at the Srikalahastheeswara Swamy Devasthanam in Srikalahasti and Goddess Padmavati Ammavari temple at Tiruchanur (Tirupati) on Tuesday.

The presidential entourage, which arrived here on a two-day visit on Tuesday, was accorded a formal reception by Minister for Endowments Anam Ramanarayana Reddy at the Tirupati airport.

At Srikalahasti, local legislator Bojjala Venkata Sudheer Reddy received the President’s family and ushered them into the shrine, where the members prayed in silence for a few minutes. He, along with the temple trust board chairman Kotte Saiprasad and Executive Officer T. Bapi Reddy, presented the dignitaries the sacred ‘theertha prasadam’.

Later at Tiruchanur, TTD Joint Executive Officer V. Veerabrahmam extended a ceremonial reception to the presidential delegation and escorted it into the shrine. Later, the priests showered ‘Vedasirvachanam’ on the visiting dignitaries.

Superintendent of Police (Tirupati) L. Subbarayudu and TTD’s Chief Vigilance & Security Officer K.V. Muralikrishna were among the participants.

Later, the President arrived at the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara as part of his two-day pilgrimage to Tirumala. On his arrival at the Padmavati rest house, TTD Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, along with other senior officials, accorded him a warm reception.

After an overnight stay, the President and his entourage would offer prayers at the hill temple on Wednesday morning. The TTD made eleborate arrangements for his stay and darshan.
