The Cyber Crime Police of Tirunelveli City have arrested Sumitha, Principal (in-charge) of a government college for women and her husband for allegedly posting “derogatory remarks” on social media against a girl student. The police said a student of Rani Anna Government College for Women recently submitted a complaint with the police accusing Sumitha of making “derogatory remarks” against her for having posted a video on social media platform. Subsequently, the Cyber Crime Police registered a case. During investigation, the police reportedly found that Sumitha and her husband Ponnudurai had posted objectionable remarks against the girl student for her social media post. The police arrested Ponnudurai and Sumitha on Tuesday.
