The Congress and DMK commenced the second round of seat sharing talks for the Puducherry Assembly polls on Monday. While the Congress side was led by the Member of Parliament and PCC chief V. Vaithilingam, in the DMK, its MP and party’s coordinator for UT S. Jagathrakshakan represented the negotation team. Druing the first round of talks held on Saturday last both parties stuck to their stand of leading the INDIA bloc in the UT for the 2026 elections. With the last date for filing of nomination papers on March 23 fast approaching, there is pressure from ticket aspirants of both parties on the leadership to agree on a pact at the earliest.
