Speaking at the media point on the Assembly premises after the Governor’s speech, BRS legislators V. Prashanth Reddy, P. Kaushik Reddy and K. Sanjay said the ruling party had tried to deceive people one more time with the Governor’s address to the legislators by completely skipping the status of its six guarantees and over 420 promises made to different sections. The women were being deceived for over two years now on the promises of ₹2,500 per month assistance, scooters to all college-going girls and 10 grams gold in addition to financial assistance of ₹1 lakh for marriage of girls from poor families. Besides, the government was also continuously deceiving farmers, unemployed youth, widows, differently abled persons and old-aged persons among others, they alleged. The Governor did not specify in his speech as to what were the achievements of the Congress government during the last two years and claimed the works done by the previous government as their own. The BRS legislators did not take their seats as they were on their feet and sported black badges until the speech was completed as a mark of protest.
