JAYAMOHAN Sanju Samson is basking in the glory of the India’s T20 World Cup triumph and relishing the biggest moment of his cricket career. However, Samson has now shifted his focus to IPL and hopes to carry forward his superb form to the premier T20 domestic tournament. “Winning the T20 World Cup was the biggest moment of my career but now I am focussed on doing well in the IPL. I am turning out for a new team (Chennai Super Kings) and I would like to give my best for them,’’ said Samson during an interaction with the media here on Monday. The wicketkeeper-batter picked the 97 not out against the West Indies as his best knock in the showpiece. “We had to win four matches which were virtually knockouts to win the World Cup and the talk in the dressing room centred around how difficult the task would be. I rate my knock against the West Indies as the best because it came under pressure and I made those runs while we were chasing a big target. I had to temper my aggression as we were losing wickets at the other end. I think I handled the pressure well and was able to control the chase,” he said. Samson said he was excited to be part of CSK and was looking forward to playing alongside M.S. Dhoni. “I am really excited to be part of CSK. I had spoken to Dhoni bhai over phone and had shared the dressing room with him when I was in the Indian team. I always had positives vibes after interactions with him. This will be different as I will be spending close to two months with Dhoni bhai in CSK and I am looking forward to it. It will be a great opportunity for me to observe him from close quarters and learn from him,’’ he said. The 31-year-old said he was overwhelmed by the support the Chennai crowd gave him when he played for India in the World Cup. “I was surprised by the support I got from the Chennai crowd during the World Cup. I think I am lucky. Maybe they see me as one of them. I don’t want to disappoint and will give my best for CSK’’ he added.
