A total of 8,064 state government employees and the teachers will be involved in the election duty in the five Assembly constituencies of Tenkasi district, which has 115 polling stations identified as ’sensitive’. Speaking to reporters here on Monday, Collector A.K. Kamal Kishore said the district had 12,64,411 voters comprising 6,18,063 men, 6,46,180 women and 168 others, who would cast their votes in 1,680 polling booths in Sankarankovil (Reserved), Vasudevanallur (Reserved), Kadayanallur, Tenkasi and Alangulam Assembly constituencies. Four staff would have to be posted in each polling booth and 20% staff have to be kept as reserve staff. Hence, 8,064 employees had been kept ready.
