Congress celebrates Siddaramaiah’s record – The Hindu

MLA Channareddy Patil Tunnur on Tuesday said that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has equalled the record of the former Chief Minister late Devaraj Urs’ record of being the longest-serving Chief Minister of Karnataka and his administration will remain forever in the hearts of crores of people.

He was addressing a gathering after launching celebrations to mark the occasion in his office in Yadgir.

Mr. Siddaramaiah’s present term as Chief Minister will always be remembered for pro-people programmes such as the guarantee schemes that provide free travelling facilities for women in government buses under the Shakti scheme, free electricity supply under the Gruha Jyothi scheme, ₹2,000 per month for eligible women under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme, free distribution of 10 kg of rice per month for cardholders under the Anna Bhagya scheme and ₹3,000 and ₹1,500 per month for unemployed youths who have completed diploma and graduation.

“Lakhs of beneficiaries are enjoying the benefits under these schemes. This is a revolutionary decision taken by Mr. Siddaramaiah for which he will remain in the hearts of the poor and students for long,” Mr. Tunnur said.

Mr. Siddaramaiah also holds the record for presenting the highest number (16) of State Budgets as he holds the Finance portfolio.

“I wish that he presents more Budgets to help the people with his concrete programmes,” he said.
