No disruption in supply of domestic LPG cylinders, says Shivamogga DC

There is no disruption in the supply of domestic LPG cylinders in Shivamogga district, and consumers should not pay heed to rumours circulating on social media, said Shivamogga Deputy Commissioner Prabhulinga Kavalikatti.

In a communique to the media on Monday, the DC urged consumers to avoid panicking and engaging in overstocking. Consumers with single-cylinder connections must maintain a 25-day gap between refills, while those with double-cylinder connections should wait 30 days before booking the next refill.

A dedicated helpline has been set up at the office of the Deputy Director of Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs in Shivamogga to address LPG-related concerns. The helpline numbers are 9148267229 and 9844214270.

Hotels hit

Meanwhile, several hotels, restaurants and roadside eateries have been hit by the disruption in the supply of commercial LPG cylinders. Some of the hoteliers have pulled down the shutters due to the unavailability of the cylinders. A hotel on S. Bangarappa Road in Gopala Extension was closed on Monday, leaving a board instructing customers that the hotel was closed for the day.

Several hotels have cut down their menus by eliminating items such as dosa, poori, and other dishes that require a significant amount of gas for cooking.
