Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) on Monday dismissed reports claiming the party was holding alliance talks with other political parties and leaders. In a statement, TVK’s deputy general secretary (IT and social media unit) C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar said claims linking the party with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK), V. K. Sasikala and S. Ramadoss over possible alliance discussions were “completely false”. Mr. Kumar said no discussions had taken place with any of the parties or leaders mentioned, at any level. He alleged “similar rumours” had been spread earlier linking TVK with other political parties, including the Indian National Congress, and said such claims had also proved to be untrue. The TVK office bearer further claimed such baseless reports were being circulated by members of the ruling DMK to create confusion among the public and party workers.
