An overturned LPG tanker seen on the national highway 66 at Katpady near Udupi on March 16, 2026. | Photo Credit: UMESH S SHETTIGAR The movement of vehicles between Mangaluru and Udupi stretch of NH66 was affected following leakage of gas from an LPG filled tanker that overturned in Katapady, in the outskirts of Udupi town, on Monday (March 16, 2026). The driver of the gas tanker, which belongs to HPCL, lost control over the vehicle. Soon after it overturned, gas started to leak from the vehicle. HPCL officials have been called to the spot to arrest the leakage and move aside the tanker. It is likely to take about four hours to complete the work.
