One held for assaulting mother, brother

The Karamana police have arrested a 41-year-old man for allegedly assaulting his mother and brother after they questioned him over his drinking habits.

The accused, identified as Jayakumar of Pappanamcode, was taken into custody in connection with the incident.

According to the police, the altercation occurred when Jayakumar was drinking alcohol along with friends in his home. His mother Girija Kumari and brother Vijayakumar questioned him about the drinking, which led to a heated argument. The dispute soon escalated, and Jayakumar allegedly assaulted both of them.

The Karamana police registered a case on the basis of a complaint. The accused has been remanded in judicial custody after being produced before a court.
