Roads & Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy urged former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao to attend the upcoming Assembly sessions and offer constructive suggestions to the government.

The Minister was speaking to the media after attending an Iftar dinner organised in Sangareddy by TPCC working president T. Jagga Reddy and TGIIC Chairperson Nirmala Jagga Reddy.

Mr. Komatireddy remarked that during the previous Assembly sessions, Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao came briefly and left without participating in detailed discussions. “At least this time, I request him to attend and guide the House,” he said.

Drawing a comparison with neighbouring Andhra Pradesh, the Minister said the YSRCP secured 11 seats but was not accorded Leader of Opposition status. “In Telangana, we have given you the Opposition status. We are ready to accept the suggestions offered by Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao,” he said, adding that constructive criticism would only enhance the former Chief Minister’s stature.

Mr. Reddy said presentations on the Musi river made by BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao were ‘laughable’. He alleged that people of Nalgonda district continue to face severe hardships due to issues linked to the Musi and longstanding fluoride contamination. “The people of Nalgonda know the suffering they endured due to the fluoride problem,” he said.

Mr. Komatireddy also criticised the BRS government’s rice distribution policy, alleging that the coarse rice supplied earlier was not consumed by beneficiaries and was instead sold back to ration dealers. “Our government is providing fine rice to every white ration card holder,” he asserted.
