Narcotics case: Naidu asks MP Putta Mahesh to stay away from party activities

Taking a serious note of the alleged consumption of drugs by Eluru MP Putta Mahesh Kumar, TDP national president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has ordered that he should stay away from party activities till the matter is examined.

Mr. Naidu told TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao to call for an explanation from the MP on the incident, and submit a detailed report on it.

Mr. Naidu has reportedly warned that the party will not tolerate such misconduct and far more serious things like taking drugs.

Mr. Naidu has reportedly noted that the TDP has been maintaining a strong public stance against drug abuse and appropriate action will be initiated in the present case, depending on the investigation.

Mr. Mahesh Kumar is accused of being present in a ‘drugs party’ held at Moinabad in Telangana and has reportedly tested positive.
