Salem District R. Brindha Devi said that the Tamil Nadu FibreNet Corporation Limited (TNFINET) is inviting applications for the selection of district-level franchisee partners (DLFP) to provide high-level internet services in rural areas under the BharatNet project.

In a release, the Collector said that the BharatNet project in the State is 95% completed. In the 37 districts of Tamil Nadu, steps have been taken to select at least two service providers in each district to provide uninterrupted internet services. Accordingly, each district will be divided into sub-divisions consisting of two to six circles on the basis of Revenue Division, and service providers will be selected.

An applicant is allowed to apply to a maximum of two districts. The applied districts must be where the company’s business is located or where the applicant’s address is located. Key responsibilities of the selected service providers include Optical Fibre Cable (OFC) and Optical Network Terminal (ONT) maintenance, providing uninterrupted internet service, OFC maintenance works, adherence to Service Level Agreement (SLA) terms, and maintenance of service availability standards.

The application registration process will be done through the TANFINET web portal (https://tanfinet.tn.gov.in). Applicants will have to download the notification and related documents, upload the required documents and select the sub-division where they wish to operate. A security deposit of ₹25,000 (refundable, interest-free) will be required for each sub-division. For the selected distributors, work orders will be issued by the TANFINET after paying a security deposit of ₹2 lakh for each circle. For further information, applicants shall contact 044-24965595.
