A protest rally was held on Saturday (March 14) at Subhash Nagar in the Jeedimetla industrial area against the nationwide shortage of LPG cylinders and the skyrocketing prices of essential commodities. Mazdoor Bigul, Naujawan Bharat Sabha (NBS) and Disha Students’ Organization jointly organised this protest. Workers expressed their outrage over the kilometre-long queues at gas stations and the rampant black marketing of cylinders. Activists slammed the government for acting as apathetic about needs of the common people as during the COVID-19 pandemic, with its lack of advanced planning. Also condemning the aggression on Iran and newly found friendship of the Central government with Israel, the protestors made demands for control of black marketing of gas, access to cylinders at regular prices, tax reduction in petrol and diesel, and action against hoarding.
