Payments worth ₹140 crore have been pending since 2022 to suppliers providing drugs, surgical disposables, implants and diagnostic kits to major government hospitals in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, prompting the Twin Cities Hospitals Suppliers Association to warn that it may stop supplies if the dues are not cleared at the earliest. In a letter addressed to the superintendents of major government hospitals under the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), the association said its members have been supplying drugs, surgical disposables, implants and diagnostic kits against rate contracts but have not received payments under several budget heads for years.
