More than 30 sheep were killed when a speeding car ploughed into the herd near Devarapalli village, Parchuru mandal in Bapatla district in the early hours on Saturday. The accident occurred when the car going from Chirala to Chilakaluripet hit the sheep on the National Highway. The vehicle overturned after hitting the sheep, locals said. The people who were in the car, are yet to be identified, as they ran away from the spot. The police said they could not ascertain if the passengers in the car sustained any injuries. The Parchuru police registered a case and took up investigation.
