Dairy company Heritage Foods on Friday said announced inauguration of its ice cream manufacturing facility at Shamirpet, near Hyderabad.

The 24 million litres per annum capacity facility is integral to the company’s strategy to strengthen value-added dairy portfolio and cater to the rapidly growing demand for premium ice cream products. Heritage Foods’ ice cream business currently generates annual revenues of around Rs.100 crore. The commissioning of the facility significantly enhances the ability to scale operations up to five times the current level over the next seven to eight years, in the ice cream category, the company said.

Managing Director said as consumer demand for high-quality ice creams continues to expand, the plant will help scale operations, introduce innovative products and strengthen presence in key markets.

The company said Heritage’s is keen on sharpening focus on high margin value-added dairy products, particularly ice cream and desserts, which are witnessing strong consumer demand across urban and semi-urban markets. India’s ice cream market is witnessing strong growth on the back of rising disposable incomes, premiumisation trends and increasing consumption of packaged dairy products.
