Tirunelveli City Police to revamp patrol, surveillance ahead of polls

Assuring that the police would start operation against criminals within 15 minutes upon getting information from the public, Commissioner of Police Deshmukh Shekhar Sanjay said Tirunelveli City Police were all set to initiate stringent action to flush out antisocial elements from the city before the start of the election process.

After honouring the police officers whose meticulous work ensured death sentence to a labourer who sexually assaulted girls aged 6, 7 and 8, Mr. Sanjay said the convicted person was a history-sheeter and had been under police surveillance since 2012. The death sentence awarded to him was a victory to the police and great recognition to the meticulous work of the investigators.
