Civil supplies officials raid godown, seize 400 cylinders

At a time when there is enough clamour over supply of gas cylinders, the civil supplies officials on Friday (March 13, 2026) raided a godown on the outskirts of Tirupati and seized nearly 400 illegally stored cylinders.

The premises located in Avilala Panchayat once served as a stock point for a private gas supplier, but its license expired in 2019. The team led by Tirupati District Supplies Officer Seshachala Raju raided the godown and also found that the private company had supplied commercial cylinders to hotels atop Tirumala hills.
