The Department of Chemical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) on Friday announced the launch of two post-graduate programmes – M.Tech in AI/ML in Chemical Engineering and M.Tech in Computational Chemical Engineering.

While the AI/ML course will train students to apply advanced algorithms and analytics to problems such as process optimisation, materials discovery, and others, the Computational Chemical Engineering course focuses on multiscale modelling and simulation of complex chemical processes. The curriculum blends chemical engineering with mathematics and computing. Both the programmes emphasise research, hands-on computational training, and industry interaction, the institute said.

“Engineering innovation today is increasingly driven by data, computation, and intelligent systems. The future of Engineering lies at the intersection of domain expertise and digital intelligence. These new courses represent IITHs vision to train engineers who can harness technologies for sustainable industry and society,” said Director B.S. Murty.
