Almost a 12-km ring road road connecting Mayilkal (Madukkarai) to Madhampatti is open for use by the public from March 13.

Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated the first phase of the western ring (bypass) road in Coimbatore on Friday. The ₹250-crore work involved acquisition of 131 acres in five revenue villages. A four-lane road for 11.8 km, two vehicle underpasses, and culverts are all part of the project. The entire bypass will run for a total distance of 32.43 km connecting Madukkarai and Narasimhanaickenpalayam.
