The Consortium of Private Autonomous Engineering Colleges in the Andhra University region and the JNTU Anantapur region have merged to form the Autonomous Engineering Colleges Managements Association of Andhra Pradesh.

The new executive committee of the newly-formed association was unanimously elected at a meeting held in Vijayawada on Friday.

Chairman of Bapatla Engineering College in Bapatla district M. Srinivasa Rao has been elected president. Chairman of Chaitanya Bharathi College of Engineering and Technology in Proddatur of Kadapa district V. Jaya Chandra Reddy has been elected general secretary. Director of Aditya Institute of Technology and Management in Tekkali of Srikakulam district V. V. Nageswara Rao will serve as treasurer.

Chairman of MVR Engineering College in Vijayawada of Krishna district M. V. Srinivasa Babu and Chairman of Pullaiah College of Engineering and Technology in Kurnool district G. V. Mohan Kumar have been elected vice presidents. Vice Chairman of Swarnandhra College of Engineering and Technology in Narsapuram of West Godavari district S. Kirti Kumar and Chairperson of Bonam Venkata Chalamayya Engineering College at Odalarevu in East Godavari district B. Kanaka Durga will serve as joint secretaries.
