Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu hails AP-Genco’s record single-day power generation

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has congratulated the AP-Genco for generating a record 6,160 MW in in a single day, marking a significant milestone in the State’s power sector.

In a post on X, Mr. Naidu said the achievement reflected the revival and steady growth of the power sector during the last 20 months of the coalition government. It demonstrated the efficiency and dedication of the State’s power generation system, he said.

The installed capacity of AP-Genco’s thermal projects stands at 6,610 MW. Achieving 6,160 MW of generation on March 11 translates to 93.19% of the total capacity, which officials describe as an exceptional performance.

The Chief Minister appreciated the efforts of the workers, employees, senior officials, and the Energy Department for achieving the milestone.

Mr. Naidu expressed confidence that the power sector would achieve even greater milestones in the coming years. With continued improvements and efficiency in power generation, the State was poised to emerge as a model for the country, he said.
