Officers with the domestic cylinders that were seized in raids in Yadgir late on Thursday. | Photo Credit: SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT A team of officers, headed by Assistant Commissioner Sridhar Gotur and Deputy Director of Food and Civil Supplies Somshekhar Biradar, on Thursday night carried out raids on hotels and food and tea stalls and seized 45 domestic cylinders that were being used for commercial purposes. In view of the unrest in the Middle East, officers raided tea stalls, hotels and other food-selling stalls and recovered domestic cylinders being used for commercial purposes. “A total of 45 cylinders were recovered in the operation carried out outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Chittapur Road, Subhas Circle, Sedam and the old and new bus terminals. We found illegal usage of domestic cylinders for commercial purposes,” Mr. Biradar told The Hindu on Friday. As per the directions issued by the district administration, the team of officers has taken action. The officers warned that legal action will be taken if anyone is found using domestic cylinders illegally. Tahsildar Suresh Ankalagi and others were on the team.
