A delegation of tourism stakeholders led by Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Mysuru MP, met Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi recently and invited him to inaugurate the upcoming Mysuru Travel Mart.

During the meeting, Mysuru Travels Association president B.S. Prashanth and Skal International president C.A. Jayakumar explained the significance of the event and how it would contribute to strengthening tourism development in the region. After hearing the details, Mr. Shekhawat expressed his willingness to extend full support to the initiative.

Earlier, the organisers had also met Karnataka Tourism Minister H.K. Patil and invited him to the event. He too assured his full cooperation.

The fifth edition of the Mysuru Travel Mart will be held from June 5 to 7 at the Jagannath Centre for Art and Culture in Mysuru. The event is being organised by the Mysuru Travels Association in collaboration with the Karnataka Tourism Department, the hotel owners’ association, and other organisations.

The delegation discussed the event’s concept, structure, and the success of its previous editions with the Union Minister and requested his support as well as his presence to inaugurate the programme, according to a press release.

The earlier four editions of the Mysuru Travel Mart successfully brought together tourism stakeholders from across the country under one roof. This year, organisers expect over 10,000 visitors and more than 1,000 tourism professionals to participate.

As the event is being held in Mysuru, tourism stakeholders from across the country will get an opportunity to explore the city, which is expected to boost the local tourism sector and economy. The event will feature more than 100 stalls, panel discussions on key industry issues, seminars, tourism and hospitality awards, and cultural programmes, the release added.

The organisers believe that hosting such an exhibition in Mysuru will help further establish the city on the global tourism map.
