A delegation of the Kalyana Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCI), led by its secretary Shivaraj V. Inginshetty, on Thursday met the Divisional Railway Manager of the Secunderabad Division of South Central Railway at the Kalaburagi Railway Station and submitted a memorandum seeking improvement in railway connectivity in the Kalyana Karnataka region.

The delegation urged the railway authorities to extend and restore several passenger train services that are important for commuters, traders, students and the business community.

Among the key demands placed before the DRM were the extension of Train Nos 66785/66786 Kacheguda-Wadi MEMU service up to Kalaburagi and the extension of Train Nos 66759/66760 Secunderabad-Chittapur MEMU service up to Kalaburagi.

The chamber also sought restoration of Train Nos 11307/11308 Hyderabad-Kalaburagi Express which earlier operated between the two cities.

KKCCI representatives also pointed out that railway operations in Kalaburagi are currently divided between multiple railway zones with two zonal interchange points affecting smooth train movement and operational efficiency.

They urged the authorities to bring both Wadi Junction and Kalaburagi Junction under a single administrative control within the South Central Railway to streamline operations and improve passenger services.

The chamber noted that Kalaburagi is an important commercial and industrial centre of the Kalyana Karnataka region and said that better railway connectivity will significantly contribute to regional development.

KKCCI expressed the hope that the South Central Railway authorities will consider the demands positively to strengthen railway connectivity and services for Kalaburagi and the wider Kalyana Karnataka region.
