Tamilnad Kidney Research (TANKER) Foundation observed World Kidney Day (WKD) 2026 with awareness and outreach activities aimed at educating the public on kidney health and prevention of kidney disease. The 20th WKD was observed on March 12, with this year’s theme being ‘Kidney Health For All: Caring for People, Protecting the Planet’. This call to action is for people to prioritise kidney health through early screening and preventive care, support equitable access to treatment for all, and adopt environmentally responsible healthcare practices that protect both patients and the planet, according to a press release.
