The Michigan State Police said on Thursday (March 12, 2026) it was aware of an active shooting incident at the Temple Israel Synagogue in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Aerial news footage from the scene showed plumes of smoke rising from the roof of the synagogue, with several police vehicles nearby. WDIV-TV reported that a truck crashed into the Temple Israel synagogue in West Bloomfield Township. Footage from the scene shows dozens of police vehicles surrounding the building.
