The Thampanoor police have arrested a 34-year-old man on the charge of cheating a Neyyattinkara native of ₹90,000. The suspect has been identified as Deepu of Nemom. The police said Deepu told a youth that he was a policeman employed at the Thampanoor police station and that once he resigned, he would ensure that the job went to the youth for a payment of ₹90,000. The accused, arrested by a team led by Thampanoor station house officer Jiju Kumar, was presented in court and remanded in custody.
