Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha received notices in connection with the hearing of the Delhi excise policy case in the Delhi High Court. She was personally handed over the High Court’s notice by a team of CBI officials on Thursday that informed her about the case hearing on CBI’s petition on March 16 in the Delhi High Court. Taking to ‘X’ on the notice served, Ms Kavitha posted, “I have been served a notice by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at around 12.30 p.m. today, informing me of the petition being presented in the Hon’ble High Court on March 16, 2026. I am in consultation with my legal team and will respond appropriately through official channels.” She further added, “As someone who is confident that truth will prevail, I intend to fully cooperate with the legal machinery. Serving a notice when an appeal is filed by the investigating agency in a higher court is the prescribed legal procedure and I would request all the relevant stakeholders to not misinterpret this in anyway that could dent the sanctity of our legal framework.” The Delhi High Court recently issued notices to AAP chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia, Ms Kavitha and other accused who were discharged by the Rouse Avenue Court. The discharge was challenged in the Delhi High Court by the CBI. Ms Kavitha, who was in the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) then, was arrested as one of the conspirators in the Delhi Liquor policy case, in March 2024 from her residence in Hyderabad. She was in jail for five months and later released. She has recently severed her ties with the BRS after being expelled on the charges of anti-party activities.
