HYDERABAD General secretary of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) R.S. Praveen Kumar has accused the government of conspiring to deny admission of students from poor families in Hyderabad Public School by not releasing ₹32 crore dues for the purpose. Every year, the HPS would issue a notification for the admission of SC, ST students into first standard (class) by this time but this year it is being delayed as there were ₹32 crore fee dues from the government. Even the SC, ST students who are already studying at the school are not being issued textbooks for the next academic year so far, he said. Children of Ministers G. Vivek, C. Damodar Rajanarasimha, legislators M. Samuel and A. Dayakar and others had studied in HPS but they are not showing any interest in extending the facility to other SC, ST students, he said.
