CM to open new building of Kannur varsity’s School of Legal Studies

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the newly constructed building of the School of Legal Studies, Kannur University, and the second floor of the women’s hostel on Dr. Janaki Amma campus, Palayad, on March 14.

Speaker A.N. Shamseer will preside over the function. MPs K. Sudhakaran, V. Sivadasan, and P. Santhosh Kumar, K.V. Sumesh, MLA, and district panchayat president Binoy Kurien will be the chief guests.

The new academic block was constructed in view of the steady rise in student intake. The building has ICT-enabled classrooms, seminar hall, faculty rooms, moot court hall, library, and a canteen. It has also been designed as a disability-friendly facility with lift and ramp access.

The women’s hostel was expanded using State Plan funds.
