The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Modern Masti Private Limited for the development of a state-of-the-art amusement park and resort in Visakhapatnam. The agreement was signed during the three-day Indian Association of Amusement Parks and Industries (IAAPI) Expo-2026 in Mumbai. Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh, who held discussions with the representatives of the company, said on Thursday that the project, involving an investment of approximately ₹100 crore, would be undertaken as part of the ‘Swarna Andhra Tourism Vision 2047’, with the objective of making the entertainment sector a key driver of tourism growth in the State. He said the amusement park and resort were planned across 50 acres in Visakhapatnam. The facility would include a luxury resort with 100 rooms. The project is expected to generate direct employment for 300 people. The Minister said Modern Masti Private Limited, established in 2017 with its headquarters in Gwalior of Madhya Pradesh, has nearly nine years of experience in the entertainment sector. Operating under the brand name of ‘Masti Land’ as part of the Modern Group, the company runs amusement parks, gaming zones, restaurants and resorts. He said the promoters of the organisation collectively had more than 40 years of experience in the entertainment and leisure industry. Highlighting that Visakhapatnam is rapidly emerging as a global coastal tourism hub, the Minister said investors are being encouraged to establish mega amusement parks in the city. The state government is committed to developing world-class entertainment infrastructure. Under the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Policy 2024–2029, he said the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority (APTA) will ensure fast-track approvals for the project and offer several incentives, including up to 25% fixed capital investment subsidy, electricity supply at industrial tariff rates and 100% reimbursement of net SGST. These incentives are aimed at encouraging large-scale investments and accelerating tourism development in the state, he said.
