In association with the Directorate of Kannada and Culture, Rangavalli Mysuru and Horizon School of Drums are organising a one-day Drum Clinic (percussion workshop) on Saturday, at 10.30 a.m. at Kiru Rangamandira (Mini Theatre) on the Kalamandira premises here.

Drummer Jioraj George will conduct the workshop. Interested individuals can contact 9620960051 or 9061643272. On the same day at 6.30 p.m., students of Horizon School of Drums will present a drum jamming programme at Kiru Rangamandira.

On Sunday, at 6.30 p.m., Rangavalli Mysuru, in collaboration with the Directorate of Kannada and Culture, will present the comedy play Parameshi Prema Prasanga. Written by theatre director Srinivas Prabhu, the play is directed by Raviprasad, a release said.

Parameshi Prema Prasanga is a hilarious flow of comedy featuring a medley of characters, namely, Parameshi, who struggles to win over Rashmi; Krishnoji, a staunch bachelor captivated by Shantaladevi’s eyes; Vyakularaya, who is determined to become a poet; Ambabai, who keeps her husband under her thumb; the forgetful Bhutanatha; the rapacious Desai; a ‘gentleman’ ex-robber; and Chenni, who can snatch a necklace in the blink of an eye. Inspired by the works of English author P.G. Wodehouse and written by Srinivas Prabhu, the play features stage design by noted designer H.K. Dwarakanath, lighting by Madhu Neenasam, music management by Manju Mangala, make-up by Saritha C.V., and costumes by Hariprasad., the release added.
