About 180 tribal farmers from the Pachamalai hills in the district underwent training on “soil and crop health management in horticultural crops” organised under Project Ainthinai recently. The three-year project, jointly implemented by the Indian Institute of Horticulture Research, Bengaluru, and the State department of Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare, to empower the tribal community through various sustainable farming initiatives. It aims at enhancing the tribal farmers livelihood opportunities through vegetables and fruits cultivation.
