The Thalassery Sessions Court on Thursday (March 12, 2026) granted conditional bail to five leaders of the Kerala Students Union (KSU) who were in judicial custody in a case related to the alleged attempt to attack Kerala Health Minister Veena George and wave black flags at her at the Kannur railway station on February 25, 2026. Those granted bail are KSU district president M.C. Athul, V.V. Akshay, C.H. Mubas, Bithul Balan, and Ammed Yasin. The bail plea was moved by advocate E.R. Vinod. The accused had been arrested and remanded after this incident.
