Over 20 children undergoing cancer treatment receive gifts

Over 20 children undergoing treatment for cancer at the Government Stanley Medical College Hospital (SMCH) received gifts based on their individual wishes at an event held on Wednesday. A press release said the programme to empower children with cancer was jointly organised by the Department of Paediatrics and the Department of Medical Oncology of SMCH, in collaboration with Make-A-Wish Foundation of India. As part of this initiative to fulfil the wishes of children with cancer, gifts such as bicycles, mobile phones, and laptops were presented to encourage them during their treatment journey. The aim of the initiative was to bring hope and happiness to children battling cancer. Dean of SMCH A. Aravind, Resident Medical Officer Vanitha Malar, Director of the Institute of Social Paediatrics J. Ganesh, and head of Medical Oncology P.N. Sathiyamoorthy were present. Neda Saba S., chapter head and Krishna Kumar N., chapter manager, Chennai, Make-A-Wish Foundation of India, took part, the release said.
