Praja Arogya Vedika (PAV) wrote to Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Satya Kumar Yadav, urging him to expedite the remaining construction work on newly-sanctioned medical colleges and operationalise them at the earliest, before the beginning of the academic year, for the benefit of students. In the letter, they wrote that the construction of medical colleges and associated facilities in many districts were either completed or nearing completion. Only limited additional funding and administrative action was required to complete the remaining work. If the government takes immediate steps to allocate the required budget, complete the remaining of construction work, and recruit the necessary faculty and staff, these colleges can be made ready for admissions in the upcoming academic year, they said.
