Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, party’s State working president Sushim Sakpal said that the party will form district and taluk committees to consolidate support at the grassroots level. Mr. Sakpal said that these committees will help the party reach out to marginalised communities, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes, and stay connected with them ahead of the local bodies elections. Mr. Sakpal expressed support for the State Election Commission’s move to hold the upcoming panchayat elections with ballot papers rather than electronic voting machines (EVMs), calling it a positive step toward transparency.
