NIT Karaikal has proposed the expansion over a five-year period from 2026 to 2031. | Photo Credit: FILE PHOTO The launch of new courses and a major infrastructure upgrade are key aspects of a ₹741-crore expansion plan proposed over a five-year period by the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Karaikal. A press note said the NIT, an Institution of National Importance under the Ministry of Education, plans to introduce new B.Tech programmes in Artificial Intelligence, VLSI, and Chemical and Bio-Process Engineering in response to emerging technological needs and industry demand.
