SC families continue sit-in protest at Tharangambadi taluk office

A protest by Scheduled Caste residents seeking house-site pattas continued for the second day on Wednesday at the Tharangambadi taluk office in Mayiladuthurai district, where families staged a round-the-clock sit-in inside the premises.

Residents from five hamlets under Sattangudi revenue village near Tharangambadi began the protest on Tuesday, demanding land for housing. The protesters, including women and children, stayed inside the taluk office premises, cooked food and continued their agitation overnight.
