Chidambaram and MP Karti Chidambaram in Subramaniyapuram, Karaikudi, on Wednesday (March 11, 2026) morning. Following the incident, the police arrived at the spot, analysed forensic evidence, and conducted an investigation. Further, Karaikudi MLA S. Mangudi visited the site in person. Sivaganga District Superintendent of Police R. Shiva Prasad also conducted an inquiry at the scene. The police said two bottles of kerosene bombs were thrown. Following the SP’s inspection, the investigation has now pivoted towards a specific angle, said sources. As Mr. Karti Chidambaram’s recent interview regarding the U.S./Israel-Iran war had sparked controversy, leading to protest posters and demonstrations against him across Sivaganga district, the police have steered their investigation in that direction.
