The Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) has taken strong exception to the ruling given by Telangana Speaker in connection with the disqualification petitions against two MLA’s – Kadiyam Srihari and Danam Nagender – on Wednesday (March 11, 2026).

In a strongly worded statement, former Minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy said: “What is being enforced in the State is not the Constitution framed by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, but the Congress party’s own constitution.”

“By trampling upon the people’s mandate, the Congress has murdered democracy,” he said adding that granting a clean chit to D. Nagender, who contested as an MP on a Congress ticket, and to Kadiyam Srihari, who not only fielded his daughter as a Congress MP candidate but also draped a Congress scarf and appealed to people to vote for the party’s hand symbol, represents the height of Congress‑style politics.

Ridiculing Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, who constantly carries the Constitution in his hand, the former Minister said he has not only abandoned the implementation of the six guarantees in Telangana but has also thrown the Constitution to the winds. “What greater proof is needed to show that the powers in Telangana are being used as a shield for the plunder of the State’s funds?” he lamented.
