In a first of its kind move, the State government has decided to deploy specialised rovers for conducting comprehensive resurvey of land across the State in the coming days. The government has decided to procure rovers, GNSS/GPS-based, high-precision receivers used for real-time kinematic (RTK) mapping, which are used for achieving sub-centimeter accuracy. The Revenue department has already procured 400 rovers and orders will be placed for 460 more in the coming days for taking up the long overdue resurvey. Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has submitted the proposals relating to the department’s requirements for the next financial year during a pre-budget review meeting convened by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday. The development follows the provision in the Bhu Bharati Act prescribing a comprehensive survey for ascertaining the land ownership pattern. “There shall be a Record of Rights in all lands in every village as soon as the Bhu Bharati Act comes into force,” the Act says. Survey of land and agricultural properties will significantly enhance the value of the properties as they will get a unique identity in the form of permanent Bhudaar (property) cards. Though the previous BRS Government initiated the process, it could not complete it due to reasons best known to the then authorities. The State government is simultaneously gearing up to bring Revenue, Stamps & Registration and Survey departments under one roof to avoid delays in settling land related issues. An exclusive portal will also be developed for monitoring the dispute resolution process from time to time The department is proposing to take up survey of 373 villages where such exercise was not conducted in the past and requested the government to make allocation of funds in this regard.
