Nordex India has laid the foundation for its expansion unit for the manufacture of wind energy components at Vengal in Tiruvallur district. The project follows a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with Guidance Tamil Nadu during TN Rising Europe in Germany in September 2025, held during Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s visit to the country. Guidance, the nodal agency instrumental in bringing investments into the State, said: “The project has progressed from commitment to ground breaking within just seven months and involves a committed investment of ₹1,000 crore, with the potential to create 2,500 jobs.” It added that Tamil Nadu was well positioned to benefit from emerging global opportunities, particularly with the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and India on the anvil.
