The movement of a tiger in tribal habitations in Rajavommangi mandal of Polavaram district is creating panic among the villagers. The tiger, suspected to be a male, has been prowling in the forests for the last few days. The forest officials, after collecting the pug marks, confirmed the movements of the animal. Villagers said the tiger killed a calf near Bornagudem village. The animal was roaming along the Yeleru reservoir forest and in the forests of Polavaram district, the locals said. “The public is requested not to go into forests for firewood and collection of forest produce,” a police officer said on Tuesday. The forest officials cautioned the residents of Urlakulapadu and G. Sharabavaram villages in Rajavommangi mandal against venturing out of their houses in the night. The officials are monitoring the movements of tiger through trap cameras.
