Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar | Photo Credit: Shashi Shekhar Kashyap Opposition members wondered why Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who is eying the chief minister’s post, desisted from making any comment on the State Budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on March 6. “You did not even attend the pre-budget meetings held by Mr. Siddaramaiah related to the two departments being held by you. Also, you have desisted from making any comments on the State Budget. You have neither praised nor criticised it. What is the reason?” BJP member V. Sunil Kumar asked Mr. Shivakumar in the Assembly on March 10. In a lighter vein, Leader of Opposition R. Ashok said that Mr. Shivakumar had shared his detailed comments on the budget with the Congress high command during his recent visit to Delhi. “Whatever he wanted to tell, he has told the right people,” he remarked.
