The Association of University Teachers (AUT) and the Madurai Kamaraj, Manonmaniam Sundaranar, Mother Teresa, and Alagappa University Teachers’ Association (MUTA) have jointly issued a statement condemning the move of Tamil Nadu Higher Education Department in excluding the government-aided college students from benefiting the Chief Minister’s Research Grant (CMRG). In a statement, they expressed concern that discrimination, exclusion and a sense of disparity among students in Tamil Nadu’s higher education sector have been steadily increasing over the past four years.
